Top Ten Trending Flies for April 2022
The top end of the chart this month has maintained strong similarities with March's chart, with the Pearly Daddy, and the two Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear (with and without Gold Head) floating around the top 4 spots. With other patterns such as the Black Midge Klinkhammer and Griffith's Gnat unsurprisingly gaining popularity.
What is really nice to see is salmon fishing being popular at the moment, with the Gold Willie Gunn tubes being the 3rd most popular pattern amongst both Trout and Salmon! (Maybe it's about time to publish a Salmon chart?)
Other comparisons to note is that the Ally McCoist, with its black tail, was replaced by the Ally McCoist Olive.
We have had some restocks this month too, with the Gold Snatcher (also available on a Firehole hook), Stewarts Millionaire, and Diawl Bach UV all making the chart. We were a bit shocked that the Diawl bach did not reach higher in the chart, as it experienced a flurry of popularity from people having used our pattern request feature.
All in all, these make a nice selection to fish with before the Mayfly hatch occurs.
